Due to the government shutdown, the funding that fully supports CalFresh (SNAP) has been paused.

Here’s what you need to know, simply:

  • The Freeze Date: No new CalFresh benefits will be loaded onto your EBT card starting November 1, 2025.

  • Existing Funds OK: You can still use any balance you had on your EBT card from the month of October.

  • Who is Hit Hard: This creates a crisis for many, especially college students who rely on this aid to stay fed and focused on their education.
