Due to the government shutdown, the funding that fully supports CalFresh (SNAP) has been paused.
Here’s what you need to know, simply:
The Freeze Date: No new CalFresh benefits will be loaded onto your EBT card starting November 1, 2025.
Existing Funds OK: You can still use any balance you had on your EBT card from the month of October.
Who is Hit Hard: This creates a crisis for many, especially college students who rely on this aid to stay fed and focused on their education.
While the future of food assistance remains uncertain, it is vital to secure food and manage your current expenses.
If you need groceries immediately, please know that local help is ready for you.
